Everyone is still asking if India can build its own AI. @sarvamai stopped asking and shipped it. Raised $234M building India-first LLMs. 10 million API calls a day. Half a million hours of audio transcribed a month. In languages no global model bothered to learn. Built from India. Built for the world. Here's their story:
Learning CS Fundamentals is the Key now x.com/leerob/status/…
@ayushg0500 Try to learn the lowest layer of the stack possible. So instead of the API framework, learn about servers, then caching, then networking, etc. For CS, things like data structures, algorithms, Big O, etc are helpful for a broad level understanding.
A robot snake for rescue missions! 🛟 The RoBoa, a soft-bodied robot developed by students at ETH Zürich is designed to navigate disaster zones too dangerous for conventional robots. This "vine-like" search-and-rescue robot can snake through debris, locate trapped survivors, and even deliver supplies to inaccessible areas. Powered by pressurized air, RoBoa consists of an inflatable fabric tube connected to a supply box containing rolled-up tubing, computing systems, and electronics. Its sensor-packed head sends a live camera feed to operators who can control its movements remotely. The latest prototype can extend to 100 meters and adjust its diameter to suit mission needs. RoBoa can also carry a speaker and microphone to communicate with survivors and deliver essential supplies like water or medicine. Beyond rescue operations, it has potential applications in inspection, environmental monitoring, and mapping. Cool idea and another proof, that nature can inspire engineers! 🐍 ~~ ♻️ Join the weekly robotics newsletter, and never miss any news → ziegler.substack.com
Marc Andreessen thinks AI is the biggest technological revolution of his life. In this conversation with a16z's Jen Kha, originally an a16z internal meeting, Marc covers: - The sheer scale of the AI revolution - How the infrastructure of >5 billion people on mobile gives AI instant distribution - Why the best of the AI application companies will be deep tech companies building their own AI - The AI race with China and how the wrong legislation could set America back - Why embracing the future is a prerequisite to success in venture 00:00 Introduction 01:51 What inning are we in? 09:11 Revenue growth vs burn 15:52 GPUs, compute & infrastructure: Shelf life and bottlenecks 24:23 China, open source & the global AI race 32:46 Policy & regulation: State vs federal dynamics 41:54 AI pricing models: Usage-based vs value-based 47:10 Open vs closed models: Tradeoffs and long-term winners 50:42 Incumbents vs startups: Who has the advantage? 1:08:44 Jobs, labor & how society adopts AI at scale @pmarca @jkhamehl
Marc Andreessen on where AI sits in the arc of technology: “This is the biggest technological revolution of my life.” “This is clearly bigger than the internet.” “The comps on this are things like the microprocessor and the steam engine and electricity… the wheel.” @pmarca

This Stanford CS224n lecture is still one of the clearest explanations of transformer architecture. If you work with LLMs and want to understand what is actually happening inside the model, not just call an API, this is worth revisiting.
In 2014, Paul Graham gave a 1-hour masterclass on why most startups fail. He broke down why: • Instincts betray you • Gaming the system backfires • Startup expertise is mostly useless 10 timeless lessons from this Stanford talk: 1. Startups are as unnatural as skiing

In 2026, Claude Code could finally unleash the golden age of local and decentralized apps. The reason is that Claude Code allows you to quickly clone any moderately complex cloud-based app into a decent local one that runs on only your files. This is an important update to Obsidian founder Kepano’s concept of “file over app.” His argument was that files are portable (and hence more reliable) but apps are not. The new information is that apps are suddenly portable too. That is: apps of moderate complexity without strong global network effects are suddenly easy to clone. The clone won’t be perfect right away, but it’ll be pretty good. And if the cloning dev sticks with it it’ll get better. So: can we get a local open source Mac app for everything, operating only on your files? Maybe we can make that a reality.
File over app File over app is a philosophy: if you want to create digital artifacts that last, they must be files you can control, in formats that are easy to retrieve and read. Use tools that give you this freedom. File over app is an appeal to tool makers: accept that all
Yesterday one of our experienced engineers who works in my R&D team, showed me an assembly and machine code security tool he built in his spare time over the past month. I did not know he was building it. I was blown away by the depth and breadth of the tool. He has developed this alone, in a month, what a team of 3-4 would have taken a year at least. He told me he found the Opus 4.5 AI model to be a game changer. Until that model, he was not all that enthusiastic about AI generated code but now he has revised his opinion. This is how we learn in Zoho - we let smart people experiment and find new path ways. Anyway, powerful machine looms have arrived for software development (challenging the handloom weavers that we have been in software) and the implications are enormous. At Zoho, we have our work cut out, and as Chief Scientist, I am under pressure. Wish us luck 🙏

India has surged in AI, ranking 3rd globally in competitiveness (Stanford 2025 report), behind the US and China. Key 2025 achievements include ₹10,300 crore IndiaAI Mission, 38k GPUs deployed, and initiatives like BharatGen for multilingual models. It's a major player with strong talent and economic potential ($1.7T by 2035), but faces hurdles in power infrastructure, regulations, and building sovereign tech. Emerging superpower? It's on track, but not fully there yet.
reminds me of this masterpiece from Feynman
