More observations… - Collaborative AI-driven software development is unaddressed - Creative and iterative process evolves (and likely remains) - Devs are conductors within the evolving AI arch - People == developers (happening faster than we can process)
Observations on AI for devs - Fxns (dev/ops/PM) blur and disappear fast - Decision-making & planning are the focus - Ability to set outcomes is more important than ever - Devs see what is possible to build in new and exciting ways - Trust and verify remains - we are still grumpy
Observations from AI founders event... - Radical change is underway for SDLC - Focus on what’s easy (reviews, tests) to learn - Architecture is accelerating (compound ai systems) - Early stage companies not rearchitecting for AI now are toast

This. You won't find a person more critical of DEI programs than Black folk in tech.🙋🏿♂️ Our criticism and feedback leads to better programs that actually work!* I'm not here for the diversity theatre or allyship cookies. I walk away. (*if it is acted upon. Too often it's not.)
The anti-DEI backlash is annoying because it’s steeped in racism which obscures valid criticism of such programs. Instead of hiring departments of people to make multi-ethnic posters and hire diversity speakers just fix hiring and promotion practices.
@kelseyhightower And this right here is the crux of it all. Invest in people! I also thought my labor/know how would make a difference. Now I see that by paying it forward is one of the highest leverage ways to change anything for the better.
Exactly my principles as well. I give the same advice over and over again. I’d add: your gut very often right, and this applies to basically everything from hiring to paint colors. Every big mistake I’ve made was because I didn’t trust my gut.
From a conversation with a friend, a few decision-making principles I like to abide by: 1. Don't make a decision out of fear 2. Don't make a decision based on what you're used to 3. Don't make a decision based on sunk costs 4. Your heart always knows what decision you prefer 💖

Multiple times a day I waffle between lower_snake and camelCase. Today I learned that lower snake is sometimes called "pothole case" (what!?🤯💚). I think that's awesome. May need to update this one a bit 🕳️🙂
