How is this any different to my angry tweet? I don’t advocate anyone be arrested for words. I’m a free speech absolutist. However I’m not down with the two tier society we find ourselves in. Neither are most and it’s fuelling people’s anger.

📣🚨 FSU Victory!! The Free Speech Union has just heard from South Wales Police that it has withdrawn its guidance on “anti-Muslim hostility”. The force had effectively adopted its own Islamic blasphemy law, instructing officers to record any conversation that went beyond “legitimate” discussion of Islam. Under this guidance, criticism of Islam could have been recorded as an anti-social behaviour incident and potentially appeared on DBS checks, affecting someone’s ability to work as a teacher, carer, or in other regulated professions. South Wales Police has backed down because the Free Speech Union threatened them with a judicial review if it chose to press ahead with the policy. The force has described this move as a “pause” to the guidance — but we think it is highly unlikely to return. We must also thank Shadow Equalities Minister @ClaireCoutinho for referring South Wales Police to the Equality and Human Rights Commission after we brought this issue to her attention. Blasphemy laws were abolished by Parliament 18 years ago. We must not allow them to return through the back door. It has emerged that Reform’s Robert Jenrick and Suella Braverman were the ministers responsible for our borders when this Sudanese man entered our country, claimed asylum, and then was allowed to stay. They held the power. They have both horrifically failed the British people.

The arrested Sudanese man was an 'asylum seeker'. He entered Britain in February 2023, immediately claiming asylum, according to the police. Who was the immigration minister at the time? And then when the man was granted leave to remain in our country? Reform's Robert Jenrick. Who was Home Secretary? Reform's Suella Braverman. They were responsible for our borders. They failed, in the most horrific way, with the most horrific consequences. A Restore Britain Government will abolish the entire asylum system. No more asylum seekers. Anyone who entered our country illegally will be deported, regardless of current status. Enough. Restore Britain will not fail you.

Remember, Labour Government lawyers told the court during the Bell Hotel case that asylum seekers' rights trump local people's. Labour do not represent us.

It simply is not enough to scrap only the Public Sector Equality Duty. By definition it only covers the public sector, yet many of the problems it causes, or permits, hugely affect the private sector. The whole thing must go and be replaced by something much simpler.
