Going out on a risky limb here - but the very last thing Kate and Wills and THEIR CHILDREN need to see right now is a sea of flowers outside their house. It’s performative, it’s for you not them. Donate the money to one of her causes. Send her a light hearted card…
@LucyGoBag When I was diagnosed, we had so many bouquets delivered that I couldn’t face going downstairs. It felt like walking into my own wake. We’ve decided to never deliver flowers to a sick person ever again and it was my go to gift before.
@marieclairemac1 @LucyGoBag Absolutely. First thought was of a funeral. Investigate ‘Not Another Bunch of Flowers’ for cards/ ideas. ( I have no link to them other than being a customer). Have used them several times and the ginger sweets were the only thing one recipient enjoyed while on chemo.
@marieclairemac1 @LucyGoBag Apparently they've gone to their Norfolk place, thankfully
@marieclairemac1 @LucyGoBag Absolutely. I asked people for book suggestions during my recovery - and any video games they weren’t using.
@marieclairemac1 @LucyGoBag I took my friend homemade bread, a meal and a magazine.
@marieclairemac1 @LucyGoBag I got none. Am I unpopular? 😂😂😂
@marieclairemac1 @LucyGoBag When a friend was diagnosed with a cancer last year, several of her friends clubbed together and paid for an Audible subscription from Amazon so she could just lie quietly if she wanted to and listen to books on headphones. I thought that was practical & lovely.
@marieclairemac1 @LucyGoBag This is something you wouldn’t even think of but my god it seems so bloody obvious when you point it out MC.
@marieclairemac1 @LucyGoBag When my other half was ill, a lovely neighbour brought me yummy Lebanese food. Way better.
