destroy blood quantum. any Native in a position of privilege should be shouting from the rooftops to dismantle it. it's supremacist disenfranchisement. it's not how majority of us work, as a people, historically, culturally, or politically. i reject it FULLY.

@kellylynnedang I'm an outsider, so grain of salt and all that, but it definitely feels like whatever utility it HAD has long expired.
@DixonBrandywine oh, it never had a utility in the first place except as a means to extract our identity and dwindle us over time, in turn for receiving government aid that we EARNED through our treaties. it's a BS genocidal tool and literally has no other function other than to remove us.
@DixonBrandywine "how else would we know if you're Native or not!?" its used as a means to establish the us vs. them apartheid. it removes our political power, when we, as nation-states, have a right to declare whom our "citizens" are. the occupier is terrified we'd expand. thus, BQ was born.
@DixonBrandywine I really flipping wish they taught American Indian history class in school, ya'll. the fact i had to seek this out and get a degree in it during college says it all (and the degree didn't even exist initially). "US History" is just all bullshit.
@kellylynnedang Shit, that's 100% true. Grew up in Florida, and we'd get the occasional presentation from the Seminoles, but even that I feel was candy coated because they wouldn't be let back otherwise.
@DixonBrandywine it's a really powerful lesson once you get into the thick of it. i'd recommend reading up on it - you have to dive into published university papers usually. start with Readings in American Indian Law: Recalling the Rhythm of Survival.
