@alisonkiddle # of columns is odd. Pair of cols 1-2, 3-4 etc. Each row in each pair has 1 blue, 1 white, so they balance. In the last column, there are an odd # of bricks. They pair off 1-2, 3-4, etc until you get to the last one, which has no partner and was by definition a corner brick 😊

@alisonkiddle If the corner bricks are all the same colour, then we have [odd x odd] = odd number of bricks and there is one more of the corner colour. Otherwise there are either [even x even] or [even x odd] bricks i.e. even overall and there are the same of each colour.
