Mixed bag at my oncology appointment today… Good news - Liver biopsy and more chemo scheduled. Bad news - Liver is now severely diseased, if it gets any worse, I could be ineligible for liver biopsy and chemo. Any good news stories for Gemcitabine and Carboplatin chemos?!
Feeling pretty pleased with myself… Today, I have made homemade bread, homemade pesto and homemade tahini to put into homemade hummus. Now I need to try not to eat the chocolate in the cupboard as a reward for eating so well today! 🤐🤐🤐

Curveball… So it turns out I have a new primary bc. It’s HER2+ (original bc is Er+). This could be why my liver hasn’t been responding to treatment, because it’s a different type. This could open up new lines of treatment. 🤞🏻 When did a cancer diagnosis become good news?! 😮🤞🏻
Yesterday marked my 5 year anniversary of my #mbc diagnosis. Only 25% of women like me make it this long. I know I’m one of the lucky ones… We celebrated by coming 4th in the pub quiz! Thank you for all of the lovely messages recently. Your support is so gratefully received.❤️
Scan results are in… Sooner than expected as they had to defer yesterday’s treatment. More progression in my liver. That’s the 4th chemo in a row that hasn’t worked. I will find out the new plan next week… Whatever that will be?! 😭
So proud of @Lyns2105 and @EElmerhebi! We managed to cheer them both on through Stretford! ❤️ Was way too excited/emotional to get a picture of them, but here is them at the start, and of the Rackhams cheering them on! @F2bHcampaign are so lucky to have such amazing support. 🖤🤍

Lying in bed at night, I always have the same bleak thoughts and worries. Mainly about how my girls will cope without me. Last night I felt like I needed a break from cancer worry, so decided to worry about something else… Turns out I can’t remember what I worried about before.

Lovely few days in Pooley Bridge and Heysham. Swimming and paddle boarding in Ullswater lake (the girls, not the adults!), visiting my old primary school and church, and catching up with old friends. Cut short due to dodgy weather (and everything breaking on the car/caravan!) 🤣

@myblueskye777 @kate_rackham I actually spoke to my oncologist about this when I was initially dx with with secondary breast cancer. It came back in my liver. Transplants are not done in this case because it basically doesn't work and has poor outcomes.

@kate_rackham I had Carboplatin and Taxol for cervical cancer (stage 4). It went really well. Dr got 99% and I'm in remission from original diagnosis. Starting a preventative treatment for a spot found in pathology.

Mixed bag at my oncology appointment today… Good news - Liver biopsy and more chemo scheduled. Bad news - Liver is now severely diseased, if it gets any worse, I could be ineligible for liver biopsy and chemo. Any good news stories for Gemcitabine and Carboplatin chemos?!
@kate_rackham i had gemzar/abraxane cocktail, it killed my pancreatic cancer, but it was a bit ruff
@kate_rackham had both. except cisplatin. the cisplatin caused me so much injury to kidneys they switched me over to carbo. too late. you will have the whole list of side effects and new ones cuz we all handle it different. either way dont plan on going out for a while. DM for more
