Jack Leiter is making his MLB debut today. He was placed on the development list last year from July 15th-August 27th. Prior to going on the dev list: 29.5% K 14.9% BB 5.51 ERA Since August 27th: 38.6% K 6.4% BB 3.97 ERA Incredible work by Jack and the Rangers staff.

Conflicted about this. On one hand, this would get you benched on 99% of HS or college teams and be called "Bush League." On the other, if there isn't a rule against it, how do you fault a player for testing the boundaries to try to gain a competitive edge? Thoughts?

A team that backs up bases, commands the zone, takes gritty at bats, runs the bases smart and hard, makes the routine play look routine and loves playing the game is usually hard to beat. These things don't require the best players but do require the right players.
