Anybody that’s been through a half decent art education will understand the value and reason for harsh criticism. It stops you from producing utter crap in the mistaken belief that you and your work is any good! Just saying.
@john_morseworks I think starting with self criticism would be a step forward. Baby steps. The main problem is a lot of people think criticism is hate and success is measured in likes/sales.
@john_morseworks Every abuser I've ever encountered has used the same logic to justify abuse. Maybe the art renaissance is that the old guard has fallen and humans are now able to create art that's authentic and individual instead of conforming to a mould of what art should be.
@john_morseworks So how do you propose that this is taken forward in the echo chamber that is web3?
@john_morseworks Never got any decent critique here, except the usual nicities: amazing, great work, etc. I suspect that this is just a placeholder text. But I do not have any art education either, so what I'm creating might be indeed an utter crap😉
@john_morseworks Agreed, it's one of the big things that's mostly absent from this space. People mistake proper criticism for trolling, when it's actually an opportunity to hone your ideas and work and push it forward.
