@HollytheOT If you work in a bank or law firm people tend to be a bit more direct and to the point with emails which can be refreshing.
@HollytheOT I am a liaison to govt employees with regards to the use of a city owned building and have found that almost no one uses any chit chat or even exposition and skips straight to direct questions. This suits me fine and I don’t bother with niceties anymore.
@HollytheOT Signatures! If your email lets you set up different signatures, you can save several email skeletons with a greeting, rote phrases and sign off. Then just erase the empty spaces on top, fill in the blanks with what you want to communicate, & avoid having to type it out every time
@HollytheOT I’m happy with a little bit when it’s genuine/ the relationship feels positive, but a lot of people who write these things probably don’t mean it (like how I used to think “How are you?” was a genuine question - how very wrong I was 😅). I’m sure it’s related to my social (1/2)
@HollytheOT Yes. But I’ve put on statement in my work email signature to say that I’m autistic and prefer to communicate directly, it’s been really well recieved and I’ve noticed people have acted on it.

Getting myself back in a work routine helps my AudHD Brain transition from holidays more easily. Today some important CPD on ND affirming goals - this is an area I find particularly challenging when working with EHPCs #RCSLT #Neurodiversity @NDSLTUK

Ha. There is new research. It looks at how researchers spotted the difference between autistic stimming etc, and OCD. link.springer.com/article/10.100… 29 bits of research studied by them. "No studies reported explicit input from autistic individuals or individuals with OCD"/
Dear researchers, you might not want to actually ask us, but I expect we can tell you anyway: With exceptions of course... Autistic stimming is usually a joy, a way of regulating ourselves, a vital part of our lives. OCD is a terrifying, exhausting nightmare. You're welcome.
In other words, researchers haven't ever bothered to ask us. Now, wouldn't it be the most sensible thing in the world to actually ask people what their experiences were, of autistic stimming versus OCD? This is yet another example of how utterly bizarre the research field is/
