Remember- this is a Republican lawmaker describing his Republican colleagues: “I guess their reasoning is they want Russia to win so badly that they want to oust the speaker over it, I mean that's a strange position to take. And, you know, I think it's, I think they want to be in the minority too, I think that's an obvious reality,” said @DanCrenshawTX. “I'm still trying to process all the bullsh*t and stuff” he added.
Thanks for @mkraju for tracking down the congressman as he’s known to do!
@jimsciutto the American Republican Party is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Russia
@jimsciutto We all see it. Putin captured a large portion of GOP to do his bidding. To protect America and democracy, voters must vote the GOP out of power.
@jimsciutto Happy more Republicans are calling out their colleagues for this disgusting loyalty to the Kremlin. Would be better if they mentioned this all stems from Trump who hijacked the party
I honestly believe that the more “center” Republicans might truly be trying to get the Republicans to lose. The more extreme the R, the more they need to go. Some of them are beginning to understand that the balance in our country is extremely off right now and that if we ever have a hope of getting back to the business of actually running the country, we have to get rid of the extremists, on BOTH sides. I think there are QUITE A FEW Republicans who are NOT on board with turning us into a theocracy with Christianity being declared our national religion and portions of the Constitution just simply being disregarded. There are quite a few that truly are no on board with that but that’s exactly what the extreme right is doing, especially with Project 2025. I think once some of the extremists are voted out, some of the states that have had some really harsh archaic Christian base laws passed can have those overturned, and we can start pushing the country more toward a reasonable middle ground where occasionally the right wins, occasionally the left wins, but at some point, the people are actually considered and the laws will be more moderate again. Maybe I’m naive, but I really feel if we could get back to a more “balanced” governance, then maybe we can begin moving forward and continue progressing as a country.
@jimsciutto The term “Republican” hasn’t had meaning in a long time. #Trump2024
@jimsciutto @andyroddick He’s a clown and I don’t know a single republican that supports him.
