I haven't posted this breakdown in some time but IAB, key trade group for Google, Facebook, adtech, pushed out its 2023 ad spend report today making it clear why FTC and DOJ are suing Meta and Google respectively as they continue to capture much of the industry growth. 1/2
In eight years since I started tracking this share of growth story, the US digital ad market has grown $152.5B (according their own trade body) of which Google and Meta captured an astouding $121.6B of it (estimated from Google/Meta public earnings). That's crazy - your data. 2/2
@jason_kint So we can conclude it's only getting worse. Dandy.
@jason_kint They have the most eyes, why would they not receive a lot of ad revenue? They don't stop other companies from getting ad revenue and consumers are not harmed by this. I'm not sure of your point here
@jason_kint Decided to read the IAB report and it's interesting how "Top 10 Companies" but it doesn't define them. Any idea how we can dig into more specific stats @jason_kint ?
