🚨BREAKING 🚨PAY ATTENTION BC —CANADA🚨 Danielle Smith is cutting benefits for disabled Albertans and giving $98 million to two foreign companies to push them into work. Here’s exactly what’s happening: Starting July 1, 2026, Alberta is replacing the AISH program with a new program called ADAP. • AISH currently pays $1,940 per month • The new ADAP rate is $1,740 per month — a permanent $200 monthly cut. People will get a temporary top-up until the end of 2027, but the real cut hits January 1, 2028. Alberta is also the only province clawing back the new federal Canada Disability Benefit — another $200 per month. While cutting support for disabled people, the government awarded $98 million in contracts to two foreign companies: • AKG Canada (Australian-owned) — $47 million for Edmonton and northern Alberta • Serco Canada (British-owned) — $51 million for Calgary and southern Alberta These companies will assess disabled Albertans, create “employment action plans,” provide case management, and pressure them toward work — even people with severe disabilities. The reality: Many people on AISH have serious, long-term health conditions. Forcing them into stressful, low-paying jobs will likely make their health worse, increase medical costs, and leave them struggling even more. On the companies: Serco has a long international track record of controversies, including overcharging governments, delivering poor service, and major scandals in prisons and public services. AKG (Angus Knight Group) is an Australian company that specializes in employment services. While they don’t have the same high-profile scandals as Serco, they are a for-profit corporation whose main business is government outsourcing — meaning Alberta tax dollars will flow to foreign shareholders instead of staying in local communities or going directly to disabled Albertans. Critics (including many Albertans) argue: • There are plenty of experienced Canadian and Alberta-based non-profits and organizations that could have done this work. • Sending nearly $100 million out of the province to foreign shareholders (instead of keeping the money circulating locally) is poor policy. • Serco especially has a controversial international track record with government contracts. My latest is out via Indigenous Insider: This is not new behavior from the United States, and it should not be treated like some out-of-character flirtation. America goes where the oil is. Iraq. Libya. Venezuela. Iran. When the prize is big enough, Washington has shown again and again it will back coups, sanctions, and outright wars to get access to it. This isn’t child’s play, and nobody should be fooling themselves into thinking Alberta is somehow exempt from that pattern just because it’s Canadian soil. And the early moves already look familiar: quiet meetings with separatist organizers, a credit line floated to bankroll a friendly breakaway government, and infrastructure permits signed before independence is even on the books. That’s the same sequence that’s preceded American involvement elsewhere — relationships and money laid down well before any flag changes. The oil sands sitting under Treaty 8 territory are exactly the kind of prize that’s moved American foreign policy before, and the playbook is already running. The 51st state isn’t a joke.
