Every year, 1 plant species per English county goes extinct. And thanks to the governments reforms in the planning system, the nationally scarce Maiden Pink may be next for South Lancashire, where it’s last native site, Ainsdale Hope School, is under threat from development 😡😭

Agreed - we should be talking about this more. Best way to tackle rising populations? Invest in education for girls and women, which also helps reduce poverty, end FGM and child brides and make the world a better place 👩🏿‍🎓📗

Just struck me that in all the coverage every day on BBC News, of the perils of climate change and ways to slow it - paring down lifestyles etc - I have never once heard anyone talk about the massive rise in the global human population, mainly in developing countries. Why not?

Two years ago my new year's resolution was to buy all my clothes #secondhand. Now I don't think I'm going to buy anything new ever again unless I can't avoid it, 💚 not adding to capitalism, supporting charities, getting to know the people in my local charity shops 😊.
