My #Vowst has still not been approved by #Unitedhealthcare, but @askUHC has gone above and beyond to help me. This experience has been frustrating and draining, but being heard by United healthcare made a big difference.

@askUHC I am happy to report @askUHC called me this morning. I was informed they would look into this situation. The bigger issue -why won’t #UHC cover #Vowst? This treatment could stop the return of cdiff in patients with multiple infections- in return cutting cost on hospitalization.

I have been given #DIFICID for the infection while I wait for a fecal transplant or United Healthcare to cover the #VOWST. Vowst is $17,500. The dificid is $7,334. I’m on my THIRD course of antibiotics. Dificid $22,032-Vowst $17,500. Make it make sense @askUHC

I have #cdiff for the 6th time in 5 years. I also have an immune disorder and SLE lupus. Due to my other conditions I am trying to get #VOWST instead of a fecal transplant. @UHC has denied coverage for this med.
