I'm sad that 5806 didn't make the cut so far. It has a lot of things going for it, including better security. There seems to be some feeling of competition with 3074, which in my view there should not have been. I applaud @Amxx 's professional reaction, we need more of that.

@MihailoBjelic ZK-ifying keccak merkle patricia trees with worst case 300 MB witness sizes is a non-starter. The verkle tree spec is designed to be zk friendly (eg. choice of curve, using pedersen as the hash) So switching to verkle helps with ZKing the L1.
.@gnosischain is now the only other network being supported by the most used Ethereum client: Geth! Great work by @gballet making this possible.
@gnosischain has a new minority client, and snap sync is working.
After Nethermind and Erigon, now you can also run GETH on Gnosis! Congrats @gballet - this is a big step towards a chain without supermajority client risk!

EIP-3074 enables a lot of great use cases, but it’s also super frightening in some regards. Proponents often say “wallets will handle it”. I hope they are right. I hope we don’t regret it.
A lot of positive things have been said about EIP-3074. I don't wanna be the party pooper, but let me simply add the warning that it also adds the ability to drain all your assets with just one fucking signature.

Big props to Ethereum for prioritizing these cleanups. Projects rarely do that and end up with tonnes of old useless baggage - which is a security risk. I wish governments would do this with laws instead of piling them up ad infinitum.

Announcing EIP-7665, Adding the EXTSELFDESTRUCT opcode to Ethereum. This would help the fight against state growth and allow us to perform the verkle transition in a matter of minutes. @lightclients and I are hoping that the EIP gets included for Electra github.com/ethereum/EIPs/…
