Me too! But I will say that my buddies still tell me that the best war-game I've ever run was this Kriegsspiel game in which the players didn't know any rules at all. I, as judge, had a 3 page set of rules, and had to make a lot of rulings. They really got creative! and it was a blast. x.com/ericbabe3/stat…

Yesterday at the 2nd day of "Eric's Basement Con" I ran a Kriegspiel game of the 1796 Castiglione Campaign. I had 3 maps in 3 different rooms: one French, one Austrian, and one for me. I ended up not really using my map very much -- I found I could just update the player maps...

I think the reason that this Sutherland painting is so powerful is that it's not just a dragon, a wizard, and a warrior depicted. The dragon is looking at the viewer. YOU are the third member of the adventuring party.

@fabiaschi @archon I normally play 6 mi./hex, but I feel that Sword&Planet games should be epic in scale, so I'm doing all of Barsoom, and want to have adventures located on the Omean Sea, Cluros, Thuria, Amtor, Va-nah, and Jasoom too.

@JuddadiahJohnsn @ManFirestorm @Gingerblast For social interaction rules I usually us the 2d6 reaction roll for first impressions with creatures. Persuasion thereafter generally involves roll-under CHA checks. At least this is what I've been doing when running OSE.

I'll even give PCs a little bonus to hit or damage in combat if they can narrate their attack in such a way that a bonus makes sense. Finding room traps is usually automatic if they search the right place in the right way.

@TimothyImholt It would certainly cost more than $1/person to send $1 to every person. Not just that: it would certainly cost more than $125/person to send $125 to every person. Maybe just send all the money to me and I can take care of it.
