@Hendi213 @TheAngelofAIM1 Guys thank you very much, just over £50 is amazing for me. Didn't have the nerve to hold. As for why the stop loss, I only have £250 to play with, which is now £348. As a % that's a great return in just a few trades. If I lost the £250 I would be out

@Hendi213 Thank you @Hendi213, at the start I was looking at quick trades and kept to 1 min. Absolutely makes sense to look at longer time frames, I would like to hold my position in #ESL over next week for sure. Just hope it stays above 9.0 so as not to hit my stop loss.

@Hendi213 @reverandaim @jonnyfroo Thing I have found, after spending time with some City boys,is that they are not any smarter than me. You would think they are geniuses. My friend and I grew up together and he went towards finance and ended up with an amazing job.Would love to show them how a pauper can keep up!

@Hendi213 @reverandaim @jonnyfroo Thanks, appreciated. For someone new, it is crazy to read about all the ways people make money in stock markets. Average Joe has no idea. Without giving details, a friend explained how at work they made over £10m profit shorting the DOW some days back. This got me interested.

Tonight, going to just watch. I think just having money to trade is a position in itself. If I lose my £250 I'll never do this again. S&P has been crazy. Nice to just watch now without stress of thinking that I should trade (rather I NEED to trade).

Wow, learnt alot today. Should make a list as I go along, maybe helpful to others who start new. So after losing big on a trade (-£94.00), I managed to end up the day £49 up. Alot of stress, alot learnt. But I was very cautious, if I wasn't I would have easily lost everything.

Last time I did anything like trading on ftse was 11 years ago, where I gave spread betting a try and failed miserably. But, at that time I had no discipline or had any real need for the money. Had I made alot of money I would have simply spent on trivial things.
