@liney_bird Yes, I see. So you're identifying that they are taking boundary as if it meant something like "healthy boundary" rather than a neutral. PsyA people must have lots of language to describe misplaced boundaries tho? Seems like it'd be a core thing.

@liney_bird Right, I get what you're saying (I think). If a person's boundaries do involve controlling others then are their boundaries misplaced - I mean, they're no longer at the boundary. They've subsumed others into a self-space that they must control?

@liney_bird I don't know the Jonah Hill story, but just theoretically there must be some point where relationship boundary-style rules do become other-controlling rules? Otherwise you're extending the boundary of you over the whole of another person?

@jemoyer @rascality In expert witness training, I watched an 'expert' get destroyed (I thought) at cross exam. Despite holes in his evidence, he stuck with his line that he was right. And that was all the jury heard, his confidence and simple, clear response. So maybe ppl can't handle complexity?

@drjanaway It does need to be saved though. But if you're saying the phrasing has a bit of a pitiful victim/saviour tone, I'd agree with that. I'd prefer something more combative - it has to be fought for, the destroyers have to be routed, their collaborators gouged out of the system.

@psychgeist52 @Cook4581 It's corporate management that implement it. It's part of a much bigger story, including the dehumanisation of people, the dismantling of community and socialised responsibilities, privatisation of social sectors, profit concentration, and obviously the dismantling of the NHS.

@JDaviesPhD There is a place for apps/tech, but not to replace regular talk therapy. Inadequate provision drives those who can pay into private practice. Those left to accept the inadequate service are without power and voice. This approach helps to dismantle the NHS.
