Today, the ATF showed up with 16 agents, most from out-of-state from cities like LA and San Francisco, to “inspect” Adventure Outdoors in Smyrna, GA. This visit was unprecedented. The sheer amount of agents from the bluest parts of the country is unusual and unnecessary to conduct a routine audit. This is a prime example of Joe Biden and the Democrats weaponizing federal agencies to silence and intimidate their political opponents. I fear this is just the beginning and they are directly targeting our Second Amendment and our right to protect and defend our families. I’m proud to have joined my colleagues to do our job and conduct Congressional Oversight on this highly suspect “inspection.”
@RepMTG And another thing, since when is an inspection an overreach? YOU took it upon yourself to inspect some jails. ATF is actually SUPPOSED to inspect places like Adventure Outdoors. Stop eroding trust in Federal law enforcement. They can't all be bad apples like you.
@debrawagoner4 @RepMTG Eroding trust in Federal Law enforcement? The ATF has been doing that themselves, setting aside the Ruby Ridge and Waco massacres (which they still pat themselves on the back for), they are infamous for being unclear and flipflopping on legal questions.
@debrawagoner4 @RepMTG Defund the ATF, not the police
@debrawagoner4 @RepMTG They have a local field office who does the inspections. Flying from CA to GA when it was already done is the overreach.
@debrawagoner4 @RepMTG They were questioning the way it was being done. And the use of only out of state ATF. That is a valid concern. Same thinking is why a lot of cities require law enforcement to live in the city they work in.
@debrawagoner4 Yes they're supposed to inspect but 15 ATF agents is a little over the top, Don't you think? Or a better question is can you think?
