Hey Liran. This is more about the insane taxes we pay to live in nyc and it's never enough.

@OpieRadio That’s fine! But choosing to highlight it this way comes off as just playing into dumb culture war stuff. You want to complain about taxes talk about the absurd project cost overruns of every municipal operation which are in the billions and enrich people who don’t need it.
@OpieRadio Alternatively, like someone else noted you could always move. But you won’t. Because despite the taxes and grumbling and occasional subway death, there is no other city like NYC in the world. That’s what your cost of living pays for.
@OpieRadio I used to grumble about the NJ cost of living. But where else can I live within an hour or so of NYC and Philly and the ocean and able to take day trips to DC and Boston if I want to. Helps that our school system is excellent and I feel like my property taxes are just tuition.
@OpieRadio We have the best food in the world. Amazing sports teams. Decent beaches with a cool boardwalk culture. Casinos within a daytrip. Even some decent nature if you know where to look. But we also have an insane amount of people living in limited space. That’s the price of admission.
@OpieRadio So excuse me if I don’t really care if a few nickels of my earnings go to paying for a meal for some poor schlub who literally walked 3,000 miles through jungles and deserts and banditos just to be in the same place I was born.
@kapoano @OpieRadio If it were only a few nickels. Here in New York State, I'm starting to run out of nickels that I earn everyday because the government is forcing me to hand them over to people who don't want to work!
