My essay in @NewYorker about Ramadan, Gaza, and sacrifice in a time of so much suffering. 🌙❤️newyorker.com/news/essay/fas…
Anyway, sometimes I like to think through the philosophy I learned in grad school and, as I almost always do, think about "What do AIDS & queer theory have to teach me?" when I confront new situations. Thanks for thinking this through with me. I hope it's useful to you, too.
I invite Caitlin, and anyone else who believes the bullshit in this essay, to come visit one of my classes at @DavidsonCollege. What's interesting is that @TheAtlantic keeps publishing pieces like this but won't publish "the other side" from folks like me. A well-kept secret:

"The most shocking thing about my time over there was how uncomplicated it actually is," says Ta-Nehisi Coates, who describes segregation in the West Bank as reminiscent of Jim Crow. "It's actually not that hard to understand." democracynow.org/2023/11/2/ta_n…
Support artists. Purchase the downloads online or purchase their CD’s or Vinyl. There’s a huge difference between streams and sales. I personally still think we should join the actors and writers in striking.

Perhaps some of our supporters want to tell @nycdistrict1 @CMCarlinaRivera @MarkLevineNYC, who supported Beastie Boys Square, about why 93-year old native son Sonny Rollins is worthy of a bridge renaming? We’ve been at this 7 years already & been ignored by local politicians.
Sonny Rollins was born in Harlem on this day in 1930. A native son of New York, he has deep roots in the Caribbean. The greatest living improviser turns 93 today. His woodshed, the Williamsburg Bridge, will someday be renamed in his honor. 📸 David Redfern/Redferns, 2005
