a lot of guilty gear players are just very rude and unwelcoming to people picking up the series or are still learning. making fun of people for being bad at a video game they're still learning isn't cool btw

@basilcores Every fgc is like super gatekeepy but I think guilty gear is definitely one of the worst, with stuff like the “aba fans getting ready to play her for the first time” idk sorry I don’t have a 20 year old game dude
@birdgetonmolly @basilcores to be fair that 20 year old game is often cheaper as a whole than buying the individual aba dlc
@basilcores Or they’re too busy having Bridget discourse to care
@birdgetonmolly @basilcores ac+r is 3 pennies and a can of dr pepper on steam
@birdgetonmolly gg fans are so annoying about the people not playing it thing like yeah! strive is doing a very good job at introducing new people to the series why wouldnt you be happy about that. like im 18 not 38 i haven’t been here since the first release
@birdgetonmolly @basilcores I feel like it was more a meme on how previous characters have gotten very popular for the designs while playing them ingame was uncommon even amongst players. Like Baiken with her old defensive style, or like Morrigan from Vampire who has totally eclipsed her own game series
@birdgetonmolly @basilcores +r actually released in 2015
@birdgetonmolly @basilcores Not entirely true the Phantom breaker community is one of the most welcoming communities I've ever been apart of. Typically it's the niche fighting games that have the best communities
