“Audited” is Marketing. Real security is Architecture. Most lending protocols wait until they hit $150M TVL to start taking security seriously. @CurrentSUI just wrapped a 7-part series showing they engineered the protocol around DeFi’s actual failure modes before opening the book. Lending markets don’t collapse by accident. They fail in precise ways: bad code paths, oracle drift, cascade liquidations, trapped exits, slow detection, sloppy governance and risk nobody can verify. Here’s the full stack on @SuiNetwork: 1. Formal Verification First “Audited” is not a security model. Current formally verified 300+ specs with @AsymptoticTech at launch — not after scale. Multi-firm review. Every upgrade is checked, then live bytecode is verified against what was audited. Invariants enforce critical safety conditions on-chain. Certain dangerous states are removed entirely — for example, you cannot borrow the same asset you posted as collateral. 2. Redundant Multi-Oracle Defense Pyth is primary. Stork is the independent on-chain cross-check. Signatures are verified on-chain. Stale prints get dropped. Confidence bounds are enforced. LST collateral is priced off the exchange rate × base asset, with that rate bounded so a secondary-market discount doesn’t force fake liquidations. If the oracle layer fails, core risk-reducing functions like repayment and liquidation remain available. 3. Controlled Liquidations & Tail-Risk Caps A single run can close at most 20% of a position’s debt (dust excepted). Incentives are calibrated by collateral group, not a flat “make it juicy” bonus. Execution sits with allowlisted professional liquidators funded by flash loans. Auto-Deleveraging (ADL) is the backstop for tail conditions — not the default path. 4. Non-Locking Emergency Controls Most protocols panic-pause everything and trap users. Freeze: stops new supply and borrow. Repayment, withdrawals, liquidations and ADL stay available. Pause: full stop, for cases where continuing to operate on compromised data could make the situation worse. 5. Monitoring Critical signals have a sub-5-minute clock. Warnings have 15 minutes. Three warnings on one market escalate. In-house monitoring plus @HypernativeLabs. The point is to catch the setup — not only the drain. 6. Governance Risk-expanding changes sit behind timelocks and review with @AllezLabs. Admin keys stay off the user path. Residual risk can be insured through Nexus Mutual. 7. Public Proof Current doesn’t ask for blind trust.
