Colesevelam and colestyramine have never been compared head-to-head in a trial. Both work for the diarrhoea in most people with BAD/BAM and both can cause some bloating if you take too much. Some people dislike the powder, some dislike taking big tablets.

Colesevelam and colestyramine have never been compared head-to-head in a trial. Both work for the diarrhoea in most people with BAD/BAM and both can cause some bloating if you take too much. Some people dislike the powder, some dislike taking big tablets.

@drkeithsiau @Clin_Med My treatment strategy: Mild: 2 X 625mg OD Moderate: above BD Severe: above TDS In my experience, Colesevelem can make a real difference to a patient's QOL very quickly. Waiting times to see a dietician can sometimes takes months. Don't forget to signpost to @baduksupport
