Germans can't comprehend that in the Netherlands you don't need a sick note to stay at home and people don't rampantly abuse it. My explanation of this is that: "Germany isn't a society."

@Yaw_nyame35 It’s abused all the time. Employees who request vacation but don’t get it during the desired period simply call in sick. If someone gets fired, they usually call in sick right away. It’s incredibly easy—sometimes all you have to do is call the doctor, not even show up in person.
