Our study of the evolutionary history of common genetic variants influencing human cortical surface area, based on brain MRI & DNA data from ~34,000 people, is published today, open access: academic.oup.com/cercor/advance…
Examples: [in genetics] you're missing an entire chromosome, or [generally] a routine chart suddenly looks "off", or the logical relationship between two columns breaks. Sometimes it's obvious (result has 0 rows), sometimes it's subtle (5 extra rows in a large dataset).
Thinking a lot about how we develop a sense for data being "right", and how to move that sense into tests. Any favorite articles or tips, #rstats friends? (language/tool agnostic!)
