@Gameonysus I just finished reading Will of the Many by James Islington and enjoyed it a lot. It’s a bit on the longer side but it’s a surprisingly “cozy” read. Other recommendation would be T. Kingfisher’s Saint of Steel series. They’re fantasy/romance romps that are pretty fun.

Nope. Code sitting on the shelf doesn't tend to gain in quality. Write and run tests, by all means. Invest in your tests! Then get it into production asap, before you forget what the fuck you even did or how you did it. I cannot emphasize this enough.

The worst product and engineering directors/executives I’ve worked with or observed shared this one thing: They refused to write their strategy and goals down and share it. Instead, they kept changing it on the go. Not writing down was a strategy to avoid accountability.

I recently learned that the Timecop gem offers a safe mode option that enforces the block syntax when freezing and travelling through time. Adding that made life a lot smoother for us to weed out some flakey tests caused by some leaky time mocking. antonivanopoulos.com/til-timecop-ha…
