@acroce66 Masterpiece. Best film of the 20’s so far.
10/10. Definitely one of his best if not the best film he's directed. But I'll say the same thing I said when I reviewed it after seeing it, if you can't handle a 3 hour long character study that's essentially nothing but dialogue, then it's not going to be your cup of tea. If on the other hand you're down for it, the performances are amazing across the board, and it definitely deserved every award it received.😏👍
@acroce66 9+ This is a movie maybe only Nolan could have made. His films always present grand themes intimately. It isn’t the story of the bomb’s horrors. It’s the story of how the architects justified it, and how the political wonks made it happen. That’s also a kind of horror.
@acroce66 5. I will watch "Oppenheimer" again but I found it overlong, tedious, muddled & average 1st time! I was reminded of the folktale "The Emperor's New Clothes" & Pluralistic ignorance! Robert Downey Jr was great but the film not so much #Oppenheimer #Oscars2024 #Oscars #Oscar
@acroce66 An 8.5. Well acted. Some moments drug out a little too long. Brilliant visuals and well directed.
I purposely chose not to see it. I did a lot of research on the Manhattan Project for my book Little Boy Blue Alpha, the story of the daughter of William Blanchard who orchestrated and gave the direct order to bomb Hiroshima. Oppenheimer was one link in the huge process of learning how to unleash atomic energy.
