Despite some early wins, keeping racism out of tipping proved impossible. Yet companies still don't pay fair wages, preserving inequities. Eliminating the tipped minimum is key to moving forward.

"From the Chinese Exclusion Act to the Alien Land Laws of the past, our community has faced unjust treatment...We are again experiencing what can happen when the government stokes fear through racist rhetoric and policy." - says @shantielise, who leads our #StoptheBlame campaign.
This law is blatantly unconstitutional and has already profoundly harmed immigrant communities, we, @aaldef, @ACLUFL, and @DehengLaw are asking the court to immediately block Florida’s law while the case goes forward. We cannot let Florida turn back the clock.
This current law is reminiscent of the “alien land laws” of the 20th century, which were used by white people to bar Chinese and Japanese immigrants from settling in their towns and cities. Those laws violated the fundamental right to equal protection— just like Florida’s does.
By putting much of Florida off-limits to people who simply want to buy a home, this law expands anti-Asian discrimination. We represent four Chinese immigrants who live, work, study, and raise families here, as well as a local real estate firm, whose business has been harmed.
Today we're at the Eleventh Circuit for Shen v. Simpson, where our clients are suing to block Florida’s law that bans many Chinese immigrants from buying homes in large parts of the state. This is unjustified and unconstitutional.
