@MattSkraby This core is aging and getting worse every year. Manny/X can no longer be expected to be feature players. prellers constant trading means there’s no one to come up to support them. Simply put, they need to retool with an eye on next year. Do the hard thing & sell @ the deadline.

@jayhaykid Doubt it. Machados deal was backloaded, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t get value up front. Mannys was 11 years later (so account for inflation), and he’s already put up about 11 fwar on his deal - (nearly double what Pujols did in his entire time in Anaheim)

@catchthe_wave3 @padtingler @JesseRogersESPN Yeah they took a loan (almost every team in baseball, and every successful company uses debt financing), to help with short term cash flow from the tv deal loss They’ve still had a top 10 payroll the last few years. You don’t know as much as you think about the situation.
