I think it requires a level of dishonesty and liberal assumption to pursue a critique of the states ‘disproportionate’ sentencing. All 4 were breaking machines embarking on mass slaughter, and their sentences are emblematic of a political system looking to protect itself.

kind of crazy how similar the sentences are between Corner, who arguably was the one person who did something actually egregious, and the others who did very little. Almost like it was a state show of force rather than a proportionate set of sentences

The World Cup should be a fever of all sorts. The politics, the deeper narratives of smaller footballing countries, their fans. We only receive a light brushed version of these things because celeb punditry and the editorial work of big broadcasters prefer the more clickbaits.

The problem with the coverage of the World Cup is that broadcasters have hired celeb type figures to do punditry and journalism. This dampers the coverage of a more deeper story of the World Cup through the perspective of fans because there’s a disinterest of these things.
