There’s gaps all over the place with weekly support for Kiwis in education & training. If something isn’t approved for weekly assistance from Studylink, we won’t help either. You need to be able to work FT on benefit. Nursing and pilot students are 2 common examples.

What happens when your central bank and Government purposefully knock the economy to the floor and leave it there for a couple of years getting sad... and then the central bank kicks it in head because oil prices go up? Literal madness.
The scary part for me is how nonchalant the central bank is. Like it was just passing the already unconscious economy lying on the street and just thought it'd put the boot in.

UK, Wales and Singapore all have reintegration programmes that combine state and community support to help prisoners develop skills and find work after release. They recognise that reintegration takes more than punishment. At MSD, we don’t have that same specialised approach.

It does not uphold mana to send a Kiwi with 30 years of solid work experience to a seminar to be lectured on how to job hunt. Experienced professionals facing a short gap in employment are also demeaned by the whole process of jobseekers. Govt even hates them.
