@nicdunz Are the balls correctly moving if they hit each other? Could be quite complex if 3 balls hit each other almost at once etc. This would be next level.

@wholemars @vasalex93 They will drive far better than any human on highways relatively soon - they have superhuman sensors and centimeter level HD maps (memory of roads that no humans have). Owning a car will become unnecessary - complicated and expensive.

@wholemars @TSLAFanMtl FSD is amazing, but can it beat a car that has the superhuman capability of pre-knowledge of each cm of the road (HD maps)? Without having "AGI" level reasoning? This is unknown.

If so they would be much further along on remote-assist (Elon mentioned "remote RC car" which does not build confidence), car depots (is land secured yet?), wrapped secret testing of the robotaxi etc. Maybe all of this is revealed at the next event but this is unknown.

@wholemars It is not yet known if end-to-end AI _without_ HD maps can reach Waymo quality. The only thing we know so far is that HD maps can lead to working self driving cars.

@wholemars If xAI does multi-modal models, also processing video, wouldn't that make it more difficult to see which kind of AI that Tesla will develop vs. what xAI will develop?

@ID_AA_Carmack What are your other arguments for this belief? I sometimes wonder if HD maps are a substitute for the general reasoning humans use when driving (and which computers do not yet have).
