#PPPD is now defined as a vestibular disorder, it was not obvious to get diagnosed and very specialised with highly trained vestibular professionals. What are/were your symptoms?
@VestibularUK I found the article - to help #GPs make an accurate diagnosis. Please share as much as you can! #vestibular bjgp.org/content/67/665…
Patients with #vestibular symptoms can wait years before getting a proper diagnosis, this should not be happening in 2024 and it needs to be taken far more seriously, I was one of the lucky ones.
It should be mandatory for every single #GP surgery to have a crash course in Vestibular education and training.
What is being done to educate GP’s on the signs and symptoms of a Vestibular/Balance disorder? Panicky patients need reassurance ASAP that their condition is real and not in their heads.
Thank you Professor Luxon (and all my consultants) it struck me that without your clinic I doubt I would ever get diagnosed or hear the magical words #vestibular
With #pppd when your symptoms are crying, rest! when mild go out! it took time but you will notice big improvements when your brave! test yourself and be kind in the process.
Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD) causes dizziness without vertigo and unsteadiness that is increased by a person’s own motion, exposure to environments with a complex stimuli, and performance of tasks that required precise visual focus. vestibular.org/PPPD

@VestibularUK “You look really well” is one of the most frustrating lines I’ve heard since being diagnosed and that’s the problem with something that fluctuates. How do I you even begin to explain it?
@VestibularUK Not sure what the UK laws are?? Here, they have to make reasonable accommodations by law. If they let you go, you can take them to court for discrimination.

@VestibularUK You have my total sympathy, as I have been struggling for weeks, with 2 weeks of daily 'unable to stand/walk and vomiting' vertigo attacks. Followed by a week of poor balance. Hopefully on road to recovery now. All the best and I hope you get over this attack quickly.
