Small Business will pay $2.3B For Valuations on 1 July 2027 x.com/toy59496/statu… One of the more interesting points made by Maddocks Accounting is that every small business owner will need to organise a formal valuation at the transition point between the new and old CGT scheme. That's at least $10,000 minimum (their estimate) because it will need to be verified externally for the purposes of verification with a hostile ATO. There are 2.73 million small businesses in Australia. So that is a $2.73 BILLION dollars of compliance cost if each of those small businesses got an assessment. That's an entirely non-productive spend and strips cash from innovation. It's a master class in stupidity. That's not even taking into account the actual complex tax returns as we are ONLY talking about the valuation. If anybody is interested in creating a startup doing easy online business valuations now is the time. I understand it's going to be an exploding market. I suggest we incorporate offshore. I agree the price of houses is a disgrace. Given that the mediann baby boomer owns ~1 house or a bit less, they don't benefit - you have to live somewhere. All the high prices do is to push council rates up. There are a few corner cases but basically that is it. Why are house prices so high? 1. Unprecedented population growth. 2. Land use restrictions. And young people vote for this, and then whine about the consequences.

I made a prediction. If your "belief" or "theory" does not lead to a prediction, it is vacuous nonsense. What is your prediction? 100 years ago it might have been: Scientists will within 30 years give up trying to explain life and will admit that elan vital is a thing that they cannot explain. 2,500 years ago it would have been: Natual philosophers will within 30 years give up trying to explain lightning naturalistically, and will admit that the only tenable explanation is that Zeus is thrrowing spears.

Just as the mystery of "elan vital" that supposedly was underneath all living things was resolved as biochemistry. And many other such allegedly insoluble problems before that. Instrumentalism in QM is quite a different matter, and widely considered to be inadequate. There have been constant attempts to overcome its limitations.
