Also, police doesn't patrol wealthier neighborhoods, so.any crime that does happen within the community can be handled internally. A kid is less likely to be stopped and searched, and so less likely to be caught with weed and other things that tend to get kids in poorer areas

You REDUCE crime by eliminating POVERTY. The reason so called nice neighborhoods have lower crime rates is because people’s basic needs are being met. It is not because of police, alarm systems, or neighborhood associations. Poverty creates crime.
