I finally finished this project. Median US house prices by county, Q4 2023. Three things stand out to me: - The west desperately needs to build housing - Coastal California is insane - Florida and the TX Triangle aren't as cheap as they used to be - Nashville suburbs lol
@StatisticUrban The don’t desperately need to build housing, they desperately need to stop hedged funds from buying residential homes and driving up home costs. A significant portion of the single family home in the US is empty.
@Daywale Neither of those are correct. Hedge funds buy about 1-2% of US homes and then rent them out. And the west, especially CA, has a chronically low vacancy rate.
