The thing I love so much about #Neighbours as compared to American soaps is that these women look like real women. Nobody has a perfect body and it’s beautiful. They’re beautiful. And they dress them well too. American soaps should take notice.

I just experienced the proudest hour of my life watching this beautiful young woman’s senior recital. She chose 12 musical songs illustrating the evolution of female characters in musical theater. It was utter brilliance & I cried through the whole thing. Graduation in 3 weeks.

@Soaps_Hope I'd say they have a continuum of men and women -- some of whom probably score higher on some idealized scale of "perfect" -- but I think that supports your point. Representation is better. I'd love to see more racial/ethnic diversity, but the cast is small.

@_Case1999 LW should understand that these awful, repetitive,multiple interviews are pissing people off, whether it's her fault or not. Maybe if she was a little humble and joked that "yes, I'm sick of seeing myself in print too. Who knew that one interview would turn into 30 articles?"
This is true because I would have no idea if it wasn’t for twitter and honestly even with twitter I don’t care. Entitled, white ivy leaguers crying about divestment and making a show of it bores me.
Outside of Twitter, I haven’t talked to one person who cares or even really knows about what’s happening at schools like Columbia. Just isn’t on their radar.

This is what’s always bothered me about these folks. It’s appropriation and mocking of actual brown people. They’re not in solidarity. They’re not allies. It’s like they’ve discovered hip hop and cornrows and are gonna pretend they’re being persecuted by the man.

@IftikharRajit I don’t particularly have an opinion on the whole thing beyond… 1) it’s wrong to brutally beat peaceful protesters 2) antisemitism is bad and has been depressingly high at these protests 3) you cannot occupy and vandalize university lots and buildings and expect no consequences.
@HacknerTyler yeah but most voters aren’t even aware of the protests beyond a passing “oh. what? that’s bad. anyways when does the game start?” many people are just not engaged with politics right now. these protests could change things, but I find it unlikely.
IMO the reality is that it’s going to be a close election, as it always was going to be, and we’re unlikely to see more than a 2 point swing in either direction from 2020. And the online protestors who currently say they can No Longer Support Biden aren’t likely to change much.
My most unfounded belief is that the Twitter Left and the protestors turning against Biden makes me feel surprisingly better about his chances. This site is often a pretty good reverse indicator of the electorate’s mood. (Don’t ask me to present any evidence. It’s just a vibe.)
I don’t belong to a particular group on here. I have my core faves as we all do, but my circle is comprised of several fandoms. 🫶🏻 I simply found a lovely, snarky, fun and often hilarious group to talk with on here. You guys really make #GH sucking lately much more bearable.
