Sleep should be seen as a vital sign, despite the fact that it is not easily assessed during an PCP office visit. The FDA cleared SleepImage System allows for routinely screening of sleep at low cost.

Adults with diabetes whose blood pressure increased at night had more than double the risk of dying compared to those whose blood pressure “dipped” during sleep, according to a 21-year study.
