Nissan has made a habit of referring to Africa as the automotive industry's "final frontier". Yet the continent quite literally didn't make it onto the map during the company's recent business-plan presentation. 🤔
For the record, Nissan's initial global presser on the topic said only that Africa would gain "two all-new SUVs" (these will likely be Renault-based products built in India) and "expand" its "A-segment ICE vehicle" offering. The latter is a little cryptic.
Since then, Nissan has added a smidgen more info, saying it hopes to double annual sales in Africa to 110 000 units. In addition, the firm says it plans to offer a fully electric vehicle in South Africa "by the end of The Arc plan" (so, by 2030, by my reading).
@Ryan_Bubear Well, clearly they treat it as the final frontier.
