🎉🇬🇧 Today, we celebrate an extraordinary milestone — the 102nd birthday of Dr Jean Munro, a WW2 veteran whose quiet bravery helped shape the course of history. Dr Munro served in Hut 6 at Bletchley Park, working as part of the team that deciphered German Army and Air Force Enigma messages. Their efforts are believed to have shortened the war by years and saved countless lives, a legacy she modestly says she only fully appreciated later in life. This week, at Lynemore Care Home in Grantown on Spey, Jean was honoured with the Freedom of Bletchley Park and presented with a specially crafted Veteran’s Pin in recognition of her remarkable contribution to Britain’s wartime intelligence. Care Home Manager Pamela Cummings said it was “an emotional occasion” and a privilege to celebrate both Jean’s milestone birthday and the recognition of her vital service. Dr Jean Munro is a true hero — a remarkable woman whose dedication helped protect our nation during its darkest days. We join everyone at Lynemore Care Home in wishing her a very happy 102nd birthday. 💙 Thank you, Jean, for your service. 📰 Source: The Carer
