Gyms and Fitness Centres need to be considered essential. Have been going safely to use City of Ottawa locations. With lockdown I decided to walk outside again for fitness I slipped on black ice and fell (please we need safe healthy options to exercise). #mentalhealth #fitness

My family and I weren’t sure if my dad would be capable of skating as we have seen many changes with his Alzheimer’s this year. While he may have trouble communicating and doing familiar tasks his muscle memory was incredible,he was so happy to be back on the ice & so comfortable

When the pandemic began, we lost 80% of our volunteers. But our community stepped up! Younger volunteers signed up in droves to make sure we could keep going. Emilie is one of these volunteers. See her story and why she volunteers here at Shepherds.

You inspired me with your positivity this morning folks & I decided to take husband out for a walk. He has been slowly building distance & time so why not try walking our park run course @rutwaterparkrun? Serious determination got him through the last km.
@rogerdoger991 @carlCurrelley Roger, you know you already are using a tool that can also be put in your car to help you remember the last location you left it at. Stick another TILE in the car. You already use one for your keys. Cheaper than a GPS. We will chat.
We are so fortunate that an anonymous donor who also matched donations from others, as well as @StarMotorsOtt, enabled us to buy this refrigerated truck for @sghottawa. We can now increase pickups of fresh food donations across the city to help the hungry. #Gratitude

Still can’t visit my wife. Will need to be at a distance & with mask. Not sure how that will go, will she know me, will she want to get close, will she understand why I can’t. How will I feel, I can’t comb her hair or hold her hand? But I can’t miss the chance to see her.
Yay! Late next week I’m getting my hair cut. I guess Hippy-Jim will return to conservative-with-Alzheimer’s Jim. My comfort zone!
