Got home from work, put my gym clothes on and headed into the garden to do @thebodycoach high intensity workout for #Parkinsons. 10 exercises 40secs each with 20sec break x 2. Here is a snippet of how I got on….

I was always attracted to rock and roll music. So I decided to split my tango lessons into Tangotherapy and “Rock and Roll therapy ‘ We laughed, had fun and we also added more aerobic exercise, And so I go, listening to my body, trying to do what I like and what is good for me.
My tango teacher had to help me deal with a dystonia episode… and he did it great!
This is one of the better presentations I ever watched about exercise and PD. Deep and clear at the same time. I would like to listen to him talking about diet and inflammation as a whole. Thank you folks!

When will we stop congratulating ourselves on the same diet and exercise conclusions, trotted out a new outfit and labeled groundbreaking? We clap and pat each other on the back, as if we haven’t noticed it’s the same information the last generations promoted. #GroundhogDay
10. Our body has the power to heal, it gives us messages and we have to learn to listen to it. We can also train ourselves to give messages to our powerful subconscious mind to heal whatever we wish.
9. Breathing management is such a key aspect of our disease that it should be evaluated at the health care level . To give just one example, my biggest predictor that I will wake up during the night is going to sleep with my left nostril partially obstructed.
8. The effect of environmental factors (light, sounds, temperature) to improve sleep quality can be completely nullified by the adverse effects of medications.
7. While the wash out of medications from our body can take a while, there´s an absolutely shocking "with/without". The same day I stopped taking the last 1/4 pill of pramipexole, I slept 9 hours straight. With the last rosuvatastine, I stopped having extremely painful dystonias.
6. Dealing with the side effects of medications can be much more difficult than dealing with Parkinson's. I can develop strategies to mitigate anxiety caused by Parkinson's, but when it comes to anxiety generated by a medication, it's like going to war with a fork.
5. Other symptoms are caused by non-Parkinson's medications (e.g., statins) possibly in association with other Parkinson's medications. Or at least, they severely aggravate the symptoms.

@Renaceralos50 My physiotherapist is clear that many of the problems I present with are not PD related. Usually they are injuries aggravated by over-exercising or not stretching enough.

Day 22 - Even I am starting to wonder how I managed this over the past three weeks with Parkinsons! I am running to the World Parkinson's Congress in Barcelona. Please track on neilstillcan.run and retweet.
2. Many of our "symptoms" improve with increased hydration. Personally, I do not feel the need to drink water, and I have observed the same in many Parkinson's fellow patients. Could it be that the mechanisms by which the sensation of thirst is produced are affected?
3. Many of our symptoms can be improved through increased tissue oxygenation. Chronic stiffness could be causing connective tissue adhesions to bone. Decompression of fascia through the method Block Therapy has substantive and lasting effects on several of our symptoms.
