The 1981 Popy Hulk Hogan from Japan is just wild. A hard stock trading card that predates his 1982 Wrestling All Stars and his very first action figure. Sporting his black trunks and silver boots the grappler was deemed Ichiban by the rabid Japanese wrestling fans.
Very cool to see Jeremy Padawer post his recent purchase of a PSA 10 of the 1981 Popy Hulk Hogan from Japan. This is a low grade copy but a great card regardless. The Hulkster’s Japanese wrestling memorabilia continues to attract strong collector interest.

This is very interesting card. It might be the only one. In the 80’s Jim Bouton made cards and you could mail in a picture and have one made. It’s my belief he is who made the 1985 Carnation Major League Wrestling cards for the Cocoa mix packs. Great find.
