BREAKING: BRILLIANT! A Chicago alderman introduces a proposal to rename Trump Tower's address after Obama in a troll move for the ages! Support for this idea is spreading like wildfire... “This would send a small message about the values we uphold as a city, those of inclusivity, resilience, and forward-thinking change, and fighting back in any way possible,” reads a petition to rename N. Wabash Ave., where Trump Tower stands in Chicago, to Barack Hussein Obama Ave. Alderman Brendan Reilly formally proposed the change after the petition racked over 26,000 signatures. The outspoken support for the petition is hardly surprising since Trump is deeply reviled in Chicago. He eked out just 22% of the vote there in the last election and has frequently demonized the city. “The spirit of this is really to recognize Obama,” Reilly said. An honorary street sign would be erected outside of Trump Tower. By avoiding officially renaming the street, the city would avoid spending millions on renaming signs, GPS systems, and maps — but the psychological effect on Trump would be just as pronounced. The honorary signs would be placed at Wacker Drive and Wabash Avenue and at Kinzie Street and Wabash Avenue. “I’m glad that the alderman put it forward, and we’ll have the debate, but there certainly is no debate to the exceptional leadership of President Obama,” said Mayor Brandon Johnson. Including the former President's middle name is a particularly inspired bit of trolling, since Trump relishes saying "Hussein" because he thinks that it otherizes Obama and makes him sound "like a terrorist." Obama spent much of his life in Chicago and it now boasts his beautiful Presidential Center. This proposal is especially delicious because Trump is obsessed with naming things after himself. According to the new book from NYT reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, the commander-in-chief’s private White House nighttime routine includes multiple snack disasters, trash strewn all over, soaked bathroom carpets, and staff scrambling to keep the place clean without going bonkers. Called Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump, the new book discloses that staff even had to start monitoring the trash after Trump was allegedly caught throwing out White House sterling silver utensils, about as a clear a case of waste, fraud, and abuse of governmental resources as we’ve ever heard. The book also claims Trump insisted on having carpet in the bathroom, including near the shower, where staff worried about moisture and mold. Because (and we’re believing Haberman and Swan here) he won't use a normal bath mat like a normal human being, staff is obliged to surreptitiously rotate pieces of matching carpet, drying them out, and swapping them back in. From there, the journalistic dynamic duo move into the, ahem, bedrooms, reporting that Trump and Melania most certainly do not share one. In what should surprise no one, they report that Mel has taken the traditional master bedroom, while Trump is relegated to the “second floor living room” next door. Thus exiled, they write, Trump took keen interest in some cool furnishings of the master bedroom, and moved items Melania had personally selected into his own room, and pooh-poohed the hapless staff when they uncomfortably pointed this out. “Once, when staff gently reminded the president that he was taking things his wife had personally selected, he made clear he didn’t care,” the intrepid investigators wrote. “He seemed almost to be competing with her – determined to have the better room.” Er, yes, this is an amusing insight into *chez* Trump, but lest we forget, working Americans are worrying about bills, health care, housing, and democracy itself. Trump, conversely, is spending his off hours reportedly in combat with his maids over Starbucks bags, Mickey-D’s wrappers, and bathroom carpets, not to mention the art objects he covets from his wife next door. Does this surprise us? No. Should the likes Donald Trump be President of the United States? No.

Read it twice. 👀 The House Judiciary minority says Patel has handed out more than $1 million in “bonus” payments to agents on his Director’s Advisory Team and his security detail. The letter calls it a personal slush fund. Here’s the mechanism. Federal pay is capped by statute. The letter alleges Patel routed money around that cap. Nearly $8,000 per agent, every two-week pay period. Some collected five in a row. Roughly $40,000 each. Then the accounts ran dry. Raskin says some of the payments bounced. Who got paid? The letter points to the unit NOTUS reported as the “Payback Squad.” And it ties the cash to silence, alleging agents were polygraphed over whether they helped cover up Patel’s drinking. Now the other column. The agents he fired include an FBI Medal of Valor recipient, the official who led the Jan 6 law enforcement response, a Marine combat veteran cut weeks after his wife died of cancer, and a counterintelligence unit that tracked Iranian threats. Reward the loyal. Purge the rest. Raskin wants every bonus, every authorization, and every legal memo on whether this broke federal law. Deadline June 29.

The payments came so fast that the FBI’s bonus reserve accounts ran dry and some checks bounced. So who got the money? Agents on Patel’s so-called "director’s advisory team." That is the unit created in 2025 and described internally as a payback squad, built to dig up dirt on the law enforcement officials who investigated Trump and his allies.
