The centrality of a market model permeates the whole proposed national strategy on the care economy (aged care, disability support, veteran’s & early childhood education and care). It doesn’t even question that the future ‘care economy’ should be a competitive private market
Like most planned aged care reforms, the draft national strategy on the care economy misses the central point about care being a social good & not just a market. National care strategy should start with an assumption that we are a society & not just an economy @JEChalmers @AlboMP
