Every minute changes me in some way. Sometimes I'm suddenly deeper and wiser. Other times, I lose what I just thought of and am too changed to get it back! I feel anxious at how time slips from me, taking my power to respond, with it.
People ask how I can work in loss and grief (so depressing!) Because it's the most potent place in Life: the portal to transformation. Here, a person becomes suddenly very aware that they carry an 'unsung song', and of their wish to sing. So they begin. Exciting and inspiring!
It's strange; we’re creatures attuned to light, and accept this as normal. Yet darkness is the normal state in the Universe. Still, here we are, somehow, in this small, miraculous corner of it—where everything is possible because the sun shines upon us for some hours every day.

@Petra_Paige The writing is the fun part. Harder is the editing and the audio recording (copious editing!). Easier if you hire it all done, but that pushes breakeven sales way way up! But the book signings are fun. Problem is, sales thus far are to my own posse...hard to get greater traction.

@Petra_Paige Yes, dark is natural. As is oppression, hunger and cold. You make me think of something I first came across decades ago: Someplace in the New Testament there is this: "In Him was life, and this life was the light of mankind." It gets at that concept, that light changes our world.

Speaking of putting yourself out there: I have a book signing tonight for my second book, this one a Christian devotional guide. Will anyone show up? LOL. There will be a hardy group of regulars, but will the work get traction? Never let 'em see you sweat! Just do it!
Online writing is like golf: There is almost no end to the tiny special skills that can be learned. I have been experimenting with posting blog entries both in written form and audio. Great learning! Many amateurish mistakes! I love them both!
@Petra_Paige If it were only darkness (absence of light) in the "small, miraculous" corner of the universe, we would not have thrived into human "beings" in the first place. This is part of the reason, in Indian philosophy, we refer to the Sun as "visible God".
@Petra_Paige While I agree with you violently :-) I wonder about common agreement on basic values. C.S. Lewis wrote this example: "Many have disagreed over how many wives a man may have, but no one has ever said that a man may have another man's wife." So... What values require consensus?
My dear mother was a fan of giblets in her stuffing recipe. I am anti-giblets. Where do you stand on this?
