After spending my morning digging into the Nicholas Jordan Wagter situation, I ended up down a DEEP rabbit hole looking into the CCP-Beijing connection in Canada, and honestly, the sheer scale of foreign interference happening right under our noses is wild. When CSIS straight-up labels a foreign state as the foremost perpetrator of interference in your own country, it’s time to start paying attention. The deeper you go, the crazier it gets. We aren't just talking about abstract political tension, we're talking about actual transnational repression playing out in Canadian neighborhoods. Finding out that unofficial, clandestine "service stations" were quietly operating out of random commercial storefronts in places like Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver to monitor and pressure local dissidents is wild! Then you look into the electoral side, and the public inquiry findings show an incredibly calculated effort. They’ve funneled clandestine funding to preferred candidates and launched targeted disinformation campaigns against MPs who speak out against Beijing's human rights abuses. Canada is a gateway into the Five Eyes intelligence alliance, which makes us a massive prize for this kind of infrastructure infiltration. Our domestic institutions and diaspora communities are being targeted in ways most people don't even realize. I personally didn't realize the gravity of the situation until I really started digging in to it today and my mind is blown. The stuff going on here is the kind of stuff you see in movies and it's happening on our own soil and some of our own government officials are in on it.
