I'm sure you've all seen it by now, but the Birmingham Police said not to share it, so here it is. A man was attacked by a gang of black men. Police, with a full view of the incident, grabbed the victim instead. Have they learned nothing? He swung at the cop as he got up after being knocked down by the gang. It's reasonable to think the attackers were continuing their assault, so he swung in self defense. No normal person in that situation would expect police to be grabbing them. We are aware of footage showing the arrest of a man after a disorder on Broad Street at 1.30am on 21 June. Officers found a group of men fighting. As the incident was dealt with, an officer was punched. One man was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer.

They definitely lived up to their hard-drinking reputation! Scottish soccer fans have managed to do what 2 centuries of St. Patrick's Day parades couldn't: drink Boston dry. The "Tartan Army" over the weekend managed to empty bars and liquor stores while celebrating the national teams 1-0 win over Haiti. The Boston Taproom even ran out of Sam Adams, its famous Boston Lager. From Thursday to Sunday, the Scottish fans drank 4 times more than what sells on the St. Patrick's 4-day holiday. One downtown bars refrigerator even broke because they opened the door so often to get out alcohol. That's some heavy drinking.
